- Conducts ecological and evolutionary research projects using established protocols with minimal or no supervision
- Oversees and assists with the development and execution of experiments, the recruitment and training of students, data collection, planning and preparation of research documentation, laboratory work, and compilation of data
- Recommends and implements improvements to existing methods of bioinformatic, molecular, and ecological research
- Writing theoretical and methodological reports, papers, and articles related to research activities
- Writing and submitting animal care and sample collection permits and protocols
- Management and optimization of lab computing resources
